Because I can and I'm too awake to sleep and too sleepy to really write... though I may end up trying that last anyway.

HAIR IN HARTFORD TOMORROW!! So excited!

Also, now that Jenny helped me take it in, I finally put wider straps on my hippie dress. Now they don't cut into my shoulders anymore. Yay! ^_^ Weather permitting, I'm planning on wearing it tomorrow. *squee!!* (Updated pictures once I have them. ^_^)

And now for some memes... )

And on that note... I'm going to try to get some sleep. Long drive ahead of me, tomorrow! :D :D :D

So... I was really in the mood to sew tonight. I have a patchwork corduroy skirt that I've been working on forever (that wouldn't actually take me so long to finish if I actually sat down and did it), that I'd actually like to get done sometime before the winter is over. As it is, my waist has decreased an inch or three since I initially measured myself for it and I'm not sure where that's going to leave me when all is said and done. *twitch* Anyway, I finally sat down and starting piecing together the last of my patches so I could trim the seams, repin them and finish the other half of the French seams. And on my third to last row... I broke the needle on my sewing machine.

D:

Noooooooooooooo.

Damn. It.

Of course, Brother doesn't answer their phones at 8:30 PM on a Sunday night (though, goodness knows why, right?) and I'm sure no one's going to be in tomorrow because it's President's day.

Double damn it.

And what's more, I'm sure it can't be that hard to swap out the needle on a sewing machine. In fact, my Uncle probably even knows how to do it... it's just that I'm too embarrassed that I broke it in the first place to even ask him. >.<;;;

So, now I find myself in this quandary of wanting to engage in a creative pursuit and being denied my first choice. I'd like to give my hands a break from knitting because I'm getting some mild finger cramps, so that's out. I wouldn't mind writing, but my mind has been in a constant state of flub this month and on top of that I'm having fandom ADD. Not. Good. :-P

Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions of any kind? Is it cheating to use a [livejournal.com profile] 15_minute_fic word when I'm the mod who's been posting them this month? ^_^ Maybe it's time to try out my favorite song meme, again...

Nuriko: *growls* Or you could just, you know... work on Part 5 like you started to do last week.

R-chan: *ponders* Noooooo... I don't think I want to do that.

Nuriko: *fumes*

Claude: *scowls*

Tasuki: *twitches at Claude* What the hell's your problem, anyway? You might actually get sex sometime this millenium.

Claude: At the rate she's going and where she left me stalled in the two Hair fics she's "working" on? Not likely.

Nuriko: *walks over and slumps down next to Claude* Join the club, pal.

Claude: F. M. L.

Georgie and Kelly: *startled* *twitch* *snerts* *in unison* OMG, Uncle Claude that was fucking awesome! *giggle madly*

Claude: *sigh*

O_O Yeah... I'm pretty sure this had no point. Movingonnow. Later!

Edit -- 9:37 PM -- *scowls at Nuriko* You win.

Nuriko: O_O Really?

R-chan: *sigh* Really. You and Tasuki may even see a little action in this chapter if I can maintain motivation long enough to get you there.

Nuriko: *fistpump* YES!!! :D :D

As many of you know, I have gone back to school to get my Masters in education. Why is this important? I'll tell you. ^_^

And for those of you who really don't care... a cut tag. )

Also, in the middle of all this going down, my mother finally found her old wooden peace sign that she used to wear in the 60s. She's been looking for it for me since... oh... February of last year? And she just randomly found it in her desk while she was looking for my credit card number so that I could call and cancel it. *_* And dude... it's gorgeous. Pictures to follow. ^_^

Really? My life never goes this well. Ever. I guess I've hit one of those synchronicity moments they talk about where everything just... goes right. ^_^ Well, let me tell you, universe... I was feelin' the love today and I thank you. Here's to more synchronous moments to come. ^_^

Warm weather.
The beach.
A reaffirmation of my faith in humanity.
My mother's peace sign.
Who could ask for anything more? ^_~

☮ ♥ ♬♪ ^_^

Edit (11:11 PM) -- Have the promised pictures of the hat and the peace sign. ^_^

Enjoy! I know I will. ^-^ )

To the neighbor whose car alarm just went off for the third damned time tonight:

What the fuck, dude? Wake up and shut the damned thing off! Better yet, deactivate it so it won't go off again. Some of us actually want to sleep tonight.

Much unlove,
Me

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] zoicite just got us our tickets for our planned outing to see Priscilla--

*twitch* And... that would be number four. What the hell? Are you on vacation in Rio or something, dude? *whimper* Someone make it stop... Oh, thank G-d. They finally went out and turned it off. On the upside, that means they're home. On the downside... why the hell does it keep going off if they're home and the car isn't moving? *twitch*

*coughs* Anyway. As noted, [livejournal.com profile] zoicite got us our tickets to see Priscilla on March 19th... and I may have accidentally talked her into seeing it on 2/28, as well. Accidentally. I mean, it was totally her idea. I just said that I wouldn't mind. You know. So, it's really all her fault. Honest. ;D So, in celebration, I watched the movie for the first time in forever and, OMG, I forgot how much I loved it! *_* *_* Lovelovelove and can not wait to see it on Broadway! :D :D :D

Also working on a new knitting project -- chenille arm warmers. ^_^ Fun, fun!

Going to try to go to sleep, now. 'Night all! Think happy no-car alarm thoughts for me!

Edit (10:18 AM) -- Seriously? Again? *tripletwitch* Thank goodness I wake up early, even when I don't fall asleep until four. :-P

*sniffle*

OK... so I just marathoned both seasons of Dollhouse in less than three days. And the last few minutes of Epitaph II still make me weep uncontrollably. I am such a wuss.

*sob* Topher... ;_; ;_; Echo... Paul... *more weeping* TOPHER!!! *sobs some more*

OK... I think I'm done now. Really.

I'm gonna go do something fun and brainless. Like... sew patches or something.

*wanders off, still weeping*

*pops back in momentarily*

Dude... someone really needs to write a fic about what happens to Alpha post-Epitaph II. Because the new supremely awesome and cool Alpha? He needed way more screentime than he got.

NoI'mNotWritingIt. GetOffMe.

And to prove that I actually have been engaging in the occasional crafty thing...

Cute crafty pictures behind the cut. )

So... I never really got back to writing after that last post. Helped my mom cut up a bunch of vegetables for tomorrow, prepped the sweet potato fries and as a reward for my efforts got to sample the unstuffed cabbage for dinner. *_* No, you can't have any. It's all mine, mine! *eg* Suffice it to say, it was delicious. I do so love my mom's unstuffed cabbage. *blissful sigh*

Cut for me babbling about the rest of my day and for pictures. )

And last but not least...

NaNoWriMo Day 24:

36177 / 50000 words. 72% done!

Yeah, for the record, I give up on trying for a "new" 50,000. I'm just going for total, even though almost 10,000 words were written before November. If I hit the other count, great, if not, that's fine, too. ^_^
eirenical: (Hair -- Pleased Berger is Pleased)
And the dress is finally finished and had its first outing. It was so much fun to wear! A few tweeks to come if I decide to make another one, but... *shrugs* You live, you learn, right? ^_^

Enjoy! )

And in other news, I was visiting one of my favorite little shops (East Coast Psychedelics) and talking to the girl who works there about sewing and such... and she offered that if I made anything and wanted to sell it, she'd be happy to give me space on the racks. O_O How awesome would that potentially be? ^_^ We'll have to see. *eg* Who knows? Could end up with a new career out of this. ^_^

I've been a busy little bee this week. O_O Decided to just jump on in and try to make one of those dresses I was admiring. I don't think it's coming out too badly. ^_^

*pokes her head up out of the woodwork to post about a little RL fun*

OK, so I've been having more than a little bit of fun with my new sewing machine. ^_^ I discovered a style of dress that I would love to own (see here)... problem is, this person (from the link) isn't making them anymore. :( Solution? Make one myself! ^_^ So, I've been working my way up to it. Made an a-line skirt for myself earlier this week and made this adorable patchwork skirt for my niece over the last couple of days. And I was proud, and wanted to share. ^_^ Enjoy?

Cut for gratuitous picspam )

OK, some of you may know that I crochet. I crochet very slowly. O_O I also knit, but I do that even more slowly. O_o;;; See... I have the same problem with crocheting that I do with writing fanfiction. When a project is new and shiny I'm very excited about it and work like mad on it for maybe a few weeks. Then... I get used to the pattern (or fandom) and it's no longer new and shiny. Then I get bored. Then I find excuses not to work on it. Then a new shiny pattern (or fandom) distracts me and the process starts all over again. O_O That's what happened with this afghan. I have at least 6 or 7 started crochet projects... and only three finished ones: A baby blanket I made for my niece (which almost doesn't count because it was a much smaller blanket than what I usually do), an afghan I made for my friend Jenny... and now this one. To give you an idea? I started this afghan in the summer of 2004. @_@;;; Yes, you heard that right. Anyway, as of last night, it's done. Now I just have to wash it to get all the kitty fur off it, then block it out and I can give it to my sister. *cheers*

Then I can get to work on one of the other seven projects I haven't finished. O_O Tina... I think yours is next. ^_^
