NaNoWriMo Day #24 and random thoughts
Nov. 25th, 2010 01:16 amSo... I never really got back to writing after that last post. Helped my mom cut up a bunch of vegetables for tomorrow, prepped the sweet potato fries and as a reward for my efforts got to sample the unstuffed cabbage for dinner. *_* No, you can't have any. It's all mine, mine! *eg* Suffice it to say, it was delicious. I do so love my mom's unstuffed cabbage. *blissful sigh*
Anyway, after that, I went to Borders to make use of my 50% off coupon to purchase the collected poems of Allen Ginsberg. Fun reading for wintry days. ^_^ I also wanted to grab this really nice hardback edition of Robert Frost (my favorite poet)... but it was $20 even with the 50% off coupon. Plus tax. :-P So, dear Mr. Frost will have to wait. Ginsberg was in softcover so he only cost me $13 (with coupon). Also snapped up a few cheap (read <$6) CDs: Elvis Presley, Simon and Garfunkel and Billy Joel's Storm Front. Eclectic? Me? Why do you ask? ^_^
Next stop was to the supermarket to pick up some light Jarlsberg so that I can (hopefully) stay away from the full-fat Jarlsberg tomorrow. Why the sudden worry when I'd been doing so well saving my points all week? My mother reminded me that we have a wedding on Saturday. O_O Thanksgiving + wedding in one week. And the wedding is at a Chinese restaurant the day before weigh-in. Considering that I really wanted to lose this week (because I boasted that I could as I had the year before at Thanksgiving), that doesn't entirely please me. *sigh* Oh well. At least if I stay the same I can blame it on retaining water from the Chinese food. ^_^
By the time I got home I just sincerely wasn't in the mood to write. :-P However! For the first time in forever, I was in the mood to cut patches. ^_^ And boy, oh boy, did I cut patches. ^_^
That's 120 corduroy patches right there. Granted, half of them were already cut, but I cut 60 of them tonight. O_O And they're all different sizes and they all taper, too. Not to mention that all the ones I cut out tonight were "upcycled" from two old pairs of pants that I wouldn't wear again if you paid me. ^_^ So, cutting those took a little bit of planning. But, now that everything is cut, I can start piecing it together into the skirt it's going to be. Not tonight, though. It's late and I have to get up to help my mom set stuff up tomorrow. ^_^ When it's done, though, I'll post pictures.
And last but not least...
Yeah, for the record, I give up on trying for a "new" 50,000. I'm just going for total, even though almost 10,000 words were written before November. If I hit the other count, great, if not, that's fine, too. ^_^
