...good grief, I'm scattered all over the place, aren't I? O_o;;; Most everything on tumblr (apart from the snippets) is on AO3, as well. So, there's that, at least. ^_~

I'll admit it. I have been truly atrocious at keeping up with LJ lately. -.-;;; It's probably due to the fact that tumblr has sucked me in big time and I'm spending a lot of my fannish energy over there. Not that that's an excuse. :-P

Anyway, I probably have a lot of RL stuff to catch you all up on (continuing job saga, NEW FOUNTAIN PENS, NEW GALAXY S4 PHONE OMG IT'S SO NEW AND SHINY AND FAST AND AMAZING, new show loves, etc.)... but TBH, I'm being lazy today and I don't feel like it. ^_~ Maybe some other day.

May 21, 2012: I needed to write today, because, dude… it was a crappy fucking day. I was just… oh, let's call a spade a spade. I was a major cranky-pants. Just… nothing seemed right and I was getting stressed. Stupid levels of stressed. The kind of stupid levels of stressed that prevent me from being about to read more than a paragraph of a book or watch more than five minutes of TV without having to look for some secondary or tertiary thing to do. Writing helps if I can make myself do it. So. Here we are. Song fic meme. Perfect. Enjoy?

Well, here we are, again. Another year passed. It seems like I just did this for 2010 yesterday. O_o;;; I have too much going on this morning to really delve into detail about the past year, but I worked my ass off organizing this last night and I'd like get it posted.

A few little notes:
1) The four fics at the end listed as "to be revealed" are the four I wrote for Yuletide. Author reveal is in like... 30 minute, but I can't wait that long. I have to be out the door by then. So... yeah.

2) I was nowhere near as prolific this year as I was last year. I think part of that was burn-out from NaNoWriMo the year before and part was that I was just so damned busy. :-P Still, a respectable total word count: nearly 180,000 words. Not too shabby. ;)

3) Fandom spread this year was also more even. Hair beat out everyone else again for the most written for fandom, but not by nearly as much as last year. Newsies (musical) came in second, Book of Mormon third and Fushigi Yuugi fourth.

4) This year also marked a major writing milestone for me...

I wrote smut.

With a vengeance.

O_O Yes, you read that right. After years beyond count resisting, I have finally caved. As promised, Nuriko and Tasuki had the honor of being the first. Claude and Berger followed after them fairly quickly. Elder McKinley and Lucifer (Don't. Ask. Seriously. I still don't know what happened there. O_o;;;) were next, then Claude and Berger (again), then Connor and Eric (My fandom has twins. *_* ^_~), then... heh. Then, I wrote het smut. *sweatdrop* Yeah. I don't know, either. -.-;;;

5) Second major writing milestone was this: I participated in two fic exchanges this year -- the Power Rangers femslash ficathon and.... YULETIDE. OMG, I had so much fun. *_* Seriously. Read my love letter to Yuletide. If you can handle all the tail wagging, that is. ;)

Anyway, I have plenty of fic plans for the coming year. I promised smutty ending to the Book of Mormon and Newsies boys. I need to get back to cracking on the third Algea fic. I have plans/starts for several other Hair fics (and I'm seeing it twice next week in Philly, so muse... get ready for a jolt ^_~). Yuletide opened up a few new fandoms to me that I hadn't considered (or more accurately, had forgotten I was considering), and whetted my appetite for more. I also have a few fics in my notebook that weren't included in the year end meme because I don't have counts on them, but they're short, little things. Only a few small handwritten pages, so... eh. Probably bumps the word count over 180,000, though... eh. Maybe I'll type 'em up and count 'em later. ;)

Aside from that, I'm still mourning the loss of my crashed hard drive and now that I'm slightly more financially secure, I can consider getting that recovered. *cheers* But I seem to have done OK without it, regardless, wouldn't you say? ^_^

Oh, one last thing I forgot. I'm driving to PA today, but I will get my four Yuletide fics shifted over to LJ when I can. 1. Eyes narrowing once again, Danny glared at the jock, "Is this another one of those epiphany moments or do I get to hit you this time?"

2. And after this last trip... by Aslan's mane, after this last trip, a horrifying dream would be welcome compared to what he'd suffered there in the mists.

3. He'd set such a high bar for what Alice expected from a man that any lesser man would have difficulty even seeing the damned thing past the sun glare, much less hurling himself over it.

4. Nuriko allowed his voice to drop into that husky growl that had so thrown the other man at their first meeting, "Since you remember me so well, Kouji-san, you may also remember this... I need no man to speak for me."

4a. (I couldn't decide. Sue me.) "This deception, this trickery, this sadistic game... Nuriko, is this all that you know?"

5. When she'd asked Sheila about it the older woman had hedged, said that they'd been busy, but Jeanie had known from watching those anxiously shifting blue eyes that wouldn't quite meet hers that there was more to the story -- something was keeping Berger away.

6. Secretly, Berger had even thought that *he* might not mind dressing up, again, but he was determined to save it for a special occasion like an anniversary, or Claude's birthday... or for a time when he'd really fucked something up.

7. Jeanie merely arched an eyebrow, "No... we were talking about what Berger had done to upset you... and the obvious conclusion is that it's not so much *what* he did to upset you, as *who* he did to upset you."

8. Whatever the case, Conner didn't toss off Kira's biting words like he usually did -- he took them full force, like a knife to the gut.

In other news... I WANT THIS. Friend and I caught the infomercial on TV and I know and love every one of the songs they were playing. And now I want this. Even the CD cases are cool. And I counted 5 songs from Hair in that 15 minute viewing alone. WANT. Anyone want to buy me an early b-day present? *unsure but game smile* ^_~

And then we flipped to South Park and it was the marijuana/bris episode -- which is my most favorite South Park, ever! (And beyond appropriate after the Flower Power infomercial. XD) Awesome. ^_^ Hello, synchronicity... we meet again. ^_^

*coughs* OK, so my nearest book was the Clinical Veterinary Advisor and page 56 was about Amitraz toxicosis and the prevention thereof. ^_^ What can I say? I've been doing research at home lately. ^_~

So, I realize it's been a while. RL is yet again trying to chew me up and spit me out. :-P *sigh* That being said, it hasn't managed it just yet. So, the other night it occurred to me that I haven't written anything new in... well, a while. Except for the occasional drabble that is. So, I pulled out the same song meme that prompted all my Party of Five ficcage... and have finally managed to poke the writing-chibis out of their hidey-holes to contemplate real fic! ^_^

You see, somewhere in the midst of my own exhausted angst, Guy started talking to me again. He wasn't really interested in "happy relationship sequel thoughts", though. He wanted to wallow in the angst of his break-up with Connie a little more. So, I figured I'd humor the poor boy and see what he came up with. After all, more back story is never a bad idea. ^_^ However, my energy level being what it is... I didn't make it through all 10 songs. O_o;;; I made it to 3... just to discover that my ability to type coherent thought ended after #2. Discretion being the better part of valor, I decided that two drabbles I was relatively happy with were better than 10 that sucked. I intend to write the other 8... but they may be a while in coming. We'll see. ^_^
