msorange21 is even cooler in person than she is online. *waves* Meeting her was a blast. And even though I was sitting "by myself", there was a whole crowd of college theater students from Illinois sitting around me and they were a very nice group of kids. ^_^ We chatted several times and they squealed at all the same things I wanted to squeal about, so my occasional fangirlishness was generally overlooked. Bonus!
After the show, we indulged my fangirl squeeishness even more by hanging around the stage door and getting autographs and pictures taken with the actors. Didn't miss many, either. ^_^ Score!
OK, so first off -- only replacement was Hubert. Otherwise, the entire cast was in... and hot damn were they on today! *beams* And they were hamming up every minute of it. ^___^ First notable hamming? Right before "Manchester England", Gavin Creel is supposed to slide across the stage on his knees to center stage. He stalled. O_o Got about 1 foot into the slide then got stuck and kinda fell forward onto his hands and scooted the rest of the way. Might have even gone unnoticed... except for Will Swenson. Once Gavin was back up on his knees, Will snarked, "Graceful." Gavin whipped around and, without missing a beat, beamed at Will and flipped him the bird. *snickers* It was awesome. ^_^ Second notable hamming: The lyrics at the end of "I Got Life", basically go: "And I'm gonna spread it around the world, _____. So that everybody knows what I got. Amen." Right after the close of the song -- you guessed it -- Will Swenson leans over to (?Caissie Levy?, I think it was...) and says, "I just love it when he spreads it around!" *_*
And just in general, they were playing up every line. ^_^ Not to mention... holy crap, was the gay obvious between Claude and Berger today. O_O Good Lordy, were they playing that up. *_* And I loved every minute of it. *beams* Will and Gavin slapped each other's butts at least three or four times (that I counted), Will did lay a smooch on Gavin (lips touching, or so it seemed from Row P... ^_~), and they were finding each other on stage to make out even more often than I remembered from my first two viewings. ^_^ Then there was the scene when Claude comes back from his physical... and Will just cuts Kacie Shiek off before she can say her line with this little gem: Making slicing motions with his hands over and over, he said to Claude (complete denial scrawled all over his face), "No. Nono. Don't tell us. Just... don't." O_O ;_; O_O Berger... O_O ;_; O_O Will... I don't think that was in the script -- I'd have remembered that from one of my first two viewings. *nodnod* Not to mention the sob-worthiness of Will's broken!Berger in the beginning of Act II and the last few scenes when Claude is missing. ;_; *wobble eyes* Fan-freakin'-tastic, man! *_* *_* And you wonder why I love whumping on these two? It's in the script, people! ^_~
And, of course, at the endmsorgane21 and I went up on stage to dance. We ended up towards the back, but Bryce Ryness was really close to where we were... holding his 6 month old daughter! OMG, she is so cute! And so well-behaved! O_O And, OK, another minor squee -- I was reading my playbill... and Bryce's daughter was born the day after my niece. *_* How awesome is that? *beams* *pause* Yeah... I'm a dork. *coughs*
Anyhoo, after the show and dinner, I mentioned that I had plenty of fun inspiration now and perhaps might manage a bit of fluff tonight as a present formsorgane21 for when she got home -- no whumping. O_O Getting a later start on that than intended... so we'll just have to see what happens. *unsure but game smile* Gonna quit stalling and go try to write fluff, now. *waves* Later!
