Some are just fresher in my mind.) I promise I'm equally excited about the possibility of all of these requests. ^_^ Some of these are also cribbed from earlier letters, because I just honestly can never get enough of them, so here we are. ^_^

I love this particular incarnation of DMBJ with my entire heart. It might just be my favorite apart from the novels, themselves. Part of that is because of the flashback. It only took a few episodes for me to completely fall poor tragic Zhang Buxun and his overly loyal attendant. And another reason this is one of my favorites is because of how much I love Liu Xueyi's Xiao Hua and also his relationship with his foster brother, Zhai Xingyao. Because if anyone needs a younger brother to tease him into being a little less serious, it's Xiao Hua. ^_^ I picked this particular set of characters because I never see much fic for them and I'd love to see more. ^_^

Feel free to include any other characters I listed above from the tagset if they strike your fancy to include them. And I've also listed ships I'm partial too, if you're going to go the ship route.

Also, in case this needs to be said, you can definitely treat these characters as an either/or situation (Dou Cheng and Zhang Buxun OR Xie Yuchen and Zhai Xingyao), because they do live about 100 years apart. Also, I do ship Zhang Buxun and Dou Cheng, but I would be happy to see them treated not shippy, also if that's more your cup of tea.

And now for some specific prompts…

Flashback time period (Dou Cheng and Zhang Buxun):

1. Dou Cheng and Zhang Buxun never really had a chance at lasting happiness, especially once the immortality pill came into play. But what if they could have gotten away? What if they could have had a happily ever after? What does that look like for them? Does Buxun ever feel guilty about leaving his wife and best friend (…former lover?) behind? Where he and Dou Cheng together before they fled or did they get together after? Just anything of "what happens next" if they lived would be lovely. ^_^


2. For that matter, what's their backstory? We know Zhang Buxun took Dou Cheng in as a kid/teenager (like Zhang Gaoyuan did for him), and by the time he's an adult, he's willing to decline promotions to stay by Zhang Buxun's side and even takes his own life once Zhang Buxun is gone. How did they get from one place to the other?


3. A day in the life while they're in the army, maybe? Dou Cheng seems to function as an extension of Zhang Buxun sometimes, and he's definitely an excellent caretaker. Just give me some cozy domesticity for them.


4. Hurt/comfort! Is my jam! They're in an army fighting a war. Maybe Zhang Buxun gets hurt and Dou Cheng has to take care of him and nurse him back to health. Either in their lush cozy mansion or somewhere off on the battlefield where there is only one cave! Or maybe Zhang Buxun just gets sick and refuses to take a rest until Dou Cheng all but sits on him? ^_^ It's all good!


5. Zhang Buxun DID take the immortality pill. He's VERY well-preserved for a corpse, too. Maybe an AU where he did actually achieve immortality? What would that be like for him to wake up in modern times and discover what happened to Dou Cheng? Does anyone help him once he wakes up? (Maybe the Iron Triangle? Maybe Xiao Hua?)


6. If you're familiar with Love and Redemption at all, Cheng Yi and Han Chengyu also played opposite each other (as Yu Sifeng and Liu Yihuan) in L&R. In that case, Han Chengyu played the older (though light-hearted and joking) mentor character and Cheng Yi played the younger (though still far too serious and often tragic) character. And IDK… but that seems like a lovely opportunity for a reincarnation fic, if you were interested in going that route. ;D

Current Day (Xie Yuchen and Zhai Xingyao):

1. I just LOVE. XIAO HUA. AND ZHAI XINGYAO. SO MUCH. TT^TT Anything looking at their weirdly antagonistic yet close and loving relationship would be wonderful. Zhai Xingyao is fiercely loyal to Xiao Hua. FIERCELY loyal. The underhanded dealings he didn't hesitate to engage in on Xiao Hua's behalf? The way he was willing to make himself out to be the boogeyman to root out the people who would do Xiao Hua harm? And yet he's also the type who sends "assassins" after his brother as a present. And hacks his security system just to show him it CAN be hacked. They have a very "court jester to the king" relationship and I LOVE it and I'd like to see more of it.


2. A day in the life? Just two brothers… hanging out at home… running their little mob family… raiding tombs… playing video games…?


3. What was their childhood like? Where did all that fierce loyalty (and it absolutely runs both ways) come from?


4. Xiao Hua is always so strong, so confident, so in control. He doesn't break that often. What if he got hurt during a tomb raid or during an attack by a rival group that left him behind enemy lines so to speak? And Zhai Xingyao had to take care of him and get him to safety. Maybe there's even a little delirium from an infected wound or a curse that lowers Xiao Hua's inhibitions and makes him reveal more weakness than he'd feel comfortable revealing? How would Zhai Xingyao react to that?


5. Honestly, any other plot point in the other dramas that involves Xiao Hua, I'd love to see a reboot (;D) of those scenes with Zhai Xingyao added to the mix.

Yuleporn prompts:

1. I would love to see Dou Cheng just… fucking Zhang Buxun's brains out in a bid to get him to relax. THE POOR MAN NEEDS A BREAK.


2. I don't properly ship Dou Cheng, Zhang Buxun, and Zhang Gaoyuan as a threesome, but Dou Cheng and Zhang Gaoyuan somehow ending up in a situation where they're competing with each other to see who can take Zhang Buxun apart the fastest? ^_^

1. I'd definitely appreciate this for Dou Cheng and Zhang Buxun: Were they together before this happened? Was this just an unfortunate thing they encountered, and Dou Cheng was the only one around to help Buxun out? Does he agonize over that or is it more of a "finally an opportunity?" kind of situation? Or does this tip the balance between them and lead to Buxun maybe being willing to consider a relationship now that sex has already happened? If they are together, does this change things for them? Or is Dou Cheng just happy that he can take care of Buxun when he needs it?


2. This is also one of the few places where I wouldn't mind Xiao Hua/Zhai Xingyao. Xiao Hua getting dosed by something and if someone doesn't fuck him, he will die… and Zhai Xingyao is the only option. How do they handle that? Do they find a way to get past it? (I wouldn't like to see it break their relationship and would like to see them back on even footing as brothers eventually, but an exploration of how that could fuck things up for them for a while could be… fun. ^_~)

2. 盗墓笔记 - 南派三叔 | The Grave Robbers' Chronicles

Canon Specific DNW: Please no Wu Yiqiong hate. His relationship with his son isn't perfect, but it's clear from canon that he loves him and only wants what's best for him. The fact that they disagree about what's "best" is not evidence that they hate each other. And Wu Xie is always an unreliable narrator, but he definitely is where his father is concerned. So yeah… please treat him gently. Thank you!

Books I have read: The main novel series, Chinese New Year’s Special Extras 1 (2009), 2 (2014), 3 (2015), Tibetan Sea Flower, Sand Sea (I have not, however, seen Tomb of the Sea, yet, so if you want to play in this canon era, please keep it to novel canon and novel characters or I’m liable to end up very confused O_o), Ten Years Later, Notes in Rain Village 1, 2. I have started the Restart novels, but have not gotten very far yet. I have read many of the tiny extras like Three Days of Silence, the ice bucket challenge extra, and quite a few others.

Books I haven’t read: any of the Mystic Nine timeline, Southern Archives, DHXS, or WSJY. (Those last two are the ones merebear lists as Restart 3 & 4.)

So, nearly the entire DMBJ main novel and sequel timeline is your playground. ^_^ I am also perfectly happy with you picking a random nebulous time period and just indulging the tropey goodness detached from any of the main events, too.

If I had to pick a hands-down favorite version of DMBJ, it's the original novels. There's just so much fun canon to choose from, everything from the utterly heartbreaking to the silly and ridiculous. And there are some GREAT hidden gems of characterization and moments between characters that I just love. ^_^

You are welcome to treat this as an either/or mix-and-match situation with the characters, and you are welcome to include characters that I listed above but didn't request, if you would like to. I'm going to talk about the characters in sets that I'm most interested in seeing together for specific prompts, but if you have another idea for how to mix and match them, feel free!

Wu Xie(/Zhang Qiling) & Wu Yiqiong:

(The one thing I ask here is please no blatant homophobia. There’s enough of that IRL, I’d prefer it not play a major role here.)

I have a GIGANTIC meta love letter brewing about Wu Xie’s father and I love him more and more with everything I read about him. I maintain that he is the sensitive himbo of the Wu family and that IS a hill I will die on. He’s a geologist. He has absolutely nothing to do with and no knowledge of ANY of the Jiumen/grave robbing business, and the few times he gets even peripherally entangled he kind of… freaks out and faints a bit. OTZ But our first introduction to him in canon is when Wu Xie calls him in the last book when he’s sad about missing Xiaoge… and his father IMMEDIATELY says “Xiao Xie, are you lovelorn? You know you can tell your dad anything that’s making you feel sad.” HE KNOWS. He knows his son is in love and sad about it JUST FROM THE SOUND OF HIS VOICE. TT^TT And let’s not even talk about how when he thinks Wu Xie is dead at the end of Sha Hai, he stays up all night just so he can go to the market and buy all of Wu Xie’s favorite foods and cook them for him, because he ALWAYS DOES and he ALWAYS WILL and he just MISSES HIS SON and I’M SORRY I’M GETTING EMOTIONAL--

*coughs* I have… more than a healthy helping of feelings about Wu Yiqiong. XD

ANYWAY, we also know from canon that he knows about Wu Xie’s prescheduled date to go pick up Xiaoge on August 17th. So, Wu Xie clearly talks to him and tells him things, even if he claims he doesn’t or that they aren’t close. Canon clearly tells us otherwise. So… now we finally get to the actual prompts amidst all these feels… XD

Prompts:

1. JUST GIVE ME MORE OF HIM. I honestly don’t even really care WHAT, just GIVE ME MORE OF THIS PRECIOUS SENSITIVE HIMBO WHO LOVES HIS SON. PLEASE. TT^TT


2. Wu Yiqiong visits Wushanju: Just… it would be hilarious. XD Wu Xie would be frantically trying to keep him from finding out about EVERYTHING about his life and the grave robbing and the times he almost DIED and meanwhile, Wu Yiqiong is just watching Wu Xie with Xiaoge and with Pangzi and is 1) so happy that his son is so well-loved and 2) slowly figuring out that Xiaoge is the one he was lovelorn about… and waited for for 10 years… and that maybe the reason his Xiao Xie is being so skittish is because he doesn’t want his father to know he’s gay? The potential for shenanigans and crossed communication until things come out is just ENORMOUS. XD Up to you if Wu Yiqiong finds out everything or just about Xiaoge, but I’d like him to at least figure out something and end up closer to his son. ^_^ (This would also be a great opportunity for an outsider POV fic. ^_^)


3. Pingxie/The Iron Triangle gets invited for the holidays at Wu Xie’s parents -- just… FOUND FAMILY FEELS, PLEASE. TT^TT


4. Wu Yiqiong finds out about Xiaoge and his relationship with Wu Xie, realizes that he is in DESPERATE need of a parental figure who actually cares for him and just… kind of adopts him. Xiaoge has no idea what to do with this. He’s quite a bit older than the man suddenly trying to parent him. Does he go along with it to humor Wu Xie? Does he maybe ACTUALLY get into it? Start poking Wu Xie to call his father more? What does Wu Xie think of all this? After all, it’s many people’s dream come true for their parents to approve that deeply of their significant others. But Wu Xie tries to keep his father separate from his life and this is NOT helping, I’m sure. XD Alternately, does this bring him closer to his father because YES. YES, XIAOGE NEEDS PAMPERING, I ALWAYS KNEW MY FATHER WAS SENSIBLE. GOOD FOR HIM.


5. Wu Xie often gets hurt on tomb expeditions (and he’s come close to dying more than once). Canonically, we know he prefers to keep his father out of it. But we also know that he DOES find out eventually (at least he knows by Restart). He’s practically in hysterics on the phone with Ershu, begging him to bring Wu Xie home so he doesn’t put himself at further risk when he’s sick. I would love to see some parental hurt/comfort for these two. Just anything where Wu Yiqiong actually gets to express some of that love and care he has for his son (...and angst about it a significant amount, of course ;D).


6. Do Wu Xie and his father ever get a chance to get any of this out in the air between them? Obviously, Wu Xie is living a very different life than his father envisioned for him. And Wu Xie clearly favors his uncles, particularly his Sanshu. Do they ever get to talk about that without having to dance around all the things that Wu Xie can’t tell him?


7. I’d love to see the two of them somehow on a tomb expedition together (feel free to include Xiaoge and Pangzi, too), where Wu Yiqiong gets to see a little bit of the man his son has become. Someone who is capable and respected and even feared, sometimes, and who maybe doesn’t need Wu Yiqiong to worry about him quite as oppressively as he does.

Wu Xie & Wang Meng

The push-pull of their relationship all the way through the series is so ridiculous, I almost can't stand it. Wang Meng loves Wu Xie so much that he's willing to put up with a truly ridiculous amount of shit from him to stay by his side. In Yucun Biji he even asks if he can come work in the restaurant just so he can be by Wu Xie's side again instead of alone in Wushanju. Just… THE LOYALTY. TT^TT

Prompts:

1. I realize this may be a bit niche, but there is one particular era in time that I am specifically fascinated by as regards these two: the time alluded to in Ten Years After. Wang Meng literally took over Wushanju while Wu Xie was declared dead and then had a turf war with Wu Xie when he came back? WHAT was that about? The animosity is still brewing between them during the beginning of Ten Years After, but so much of that animosity is covering so much love. Wang Meng tries to convince Wu Xie that Xiaoge is dead so he'll stop chasing a ghost… because now that Wu Xie is back among the living, Wang Meng is determined to keep him there no matter the cost. That's love talking. That's loyalty. So, anything looking at this time period, at how Wang Meng reacts to Wu Xie coming back and how desperate he is to keep Wu Xie safe, even from himself? I'd love to know more. ^_^


2. Wu Xie finally showing a little bit of that love and care back in Wang Meng's direction? Maybe a little respect for following him for all those years? (…Wang Meng would probably combust, but fucking HELL, I'd love to see the man get a THANK YOU, at least.)


3. Just… any more Yucun Biji shenanigans. This poor man schlepped all over creation to get all manner of odd building materials for Wu Xie. What else has Wu Xie asked him to do or conned him into doing?


Wu Xie/Zhang Qiling:

…I'm not sure we have enough time in this letter for me to describe how much I love these two. TT^TT The way they're just instantly fascinated by each other from pretty much minute one? The way that relationship builds to the point where Xiaoge trusts Wu Xie even when he doesn't remember who he is? The absolute LENGTHS they'll go to to protect each other and to take care of each other? "YOU'RE MY ONLY CONNECTION TO THE WORLD?" Wu Xie falling into deep depressions every time he thinks he's lost Xiaoge? And then Wu Xie finally building Xiaoge a home that he can just be himself in? A place where he can breathe? Where he isn't a tool to be used? Where he has CATS and TREES and Pangzi will cook him all his favorite foods? Just… excuse me while I go cry in a CORNER. TT^TT

*coughs* So. Yeah. I ship them… kind of a lot. ^_^

Prompts:

1. After the Iron Triangle’s expedition to Xisha (unlike in TLT2) the entire Iron Triangle is basically stuck in a beach house together for a week. Wu Xie spends the time plying Xiaoge with questions and trying to get him to play games and do things with he and Pangzi, and Xiaoge spends a lot of time staring at ceilings. What if Wu Xie did get him to open up? What if he did get Xiaoge to play with him? (*coughs* I’m perfectly OK with you interpreting that as fluffy actual games like board games or beach volleyball OR as the NSFW kind of play. Maybe that’s the only way Xiaoge can think to get Wu Xie to stop asking questions? IDK. ^_^) I mean, it’s Pingxie/Iron Triangle sharing a beach house for a week. THERE’S A LOT OF POTENTIAL FOR FUN THERE, IS ALL I’M SAYING, so do with that what you will. ^_^


2. OMG, ANYTHING soft and domestic from the Yucun Biji era. I love Xiaoge and cats. I love Wu Xie unabashedly staring at Xiaoge in the courtyard for literal hours. I love Wu Xie building a HOUSE for them all to live in and them utterly failing to dig a pond because they defaulted to digging a grave robbers’ tunnel (at first; they sorted it out in the end ;D). And I love that Xiaoge’s job in the restaurant is literally to stand there, look pretty, and point at the QR code. I love that Wu Xie wrote literal fanfiction of the three of them on the village bulletin boards. (I shit you not, that is canon. XD) I love Wu Xie hanging that huge damned portrait of Xiaoge in the entryway of their house and planting/moving trees around so Xiaoge can lounge in them whenever he wants to. I just LOVE THEM ALL TAKING CARE OF EACH OTHER in ways that let them all play to their strengths. And I especially love that mob boss!Wu Xie rears his head just often enough to ensure that the people in the village don’t give them trouble. So, just… more of ANY of that would be welcome. Yucun Biji owns my entire heart and NPSS is being VERY slow at writing more of it. XD


3. In the Bronze Tree Arc, Wu Xie picks up a particular magical power to rewrite reality that is… never ever mentioned again? And I am FASCINATED by it and would love to know more. Does he ever learn to use it or does it remain something he can only do subconsciously? Does it change anything about him? Give him increased longevity maybe that they don’t figure out until later?


4. If you want to take this to a dark place…


• Does Xiaoge ever notice things changing around them? How does he react to it? His memory is so shaky to begin with, does that destabilize him at all?


• Does Wu Xie go full-on mob boss/Dark!Wu Xie a little early? Like when Xiaoge goes behind the Bronze Gate for the first time? (Or even on schedule when Xiaoge is gone for ten years.) Does he remake the world out of grief to bring Xiaoge home? How do Xiaoge and Pangzi feel about that? Post 10 years Xiaoge has already figured out that Wu Xie is his one connection to the world, so does he just go all-in and support Wu Xie no matter how Dark Overlord he’s gone? There’s some fun potential for dark fic here. ^_^


Yuleporn Prompts:
So… Wu Xie is kinky af in novel canon and we love to see it. ;D SO MANY INCIDENTS.

In Tibetan Sea Flower, there’s the incident with King Yama riding the dead -- he stands on Wu Xie’s back and breaks Wu Xie’s arm, and Wu Xie’s response is:

• Shit, King Yama riding the dead? This fucker was trying to ride me! Wasn’t this bastard supposed to be riding female corpses?!
  “You motherfucker!” I cried. “Fatty, this guy wants me to do S&M! The bastard clearly can’t distinguish between men and women!””

And that's not even mentioning the times he…

• fantasized about keeping Xiaoge naked in a cage and wondered if he’d been kept as a sex slave when he lived in Banai (how tragic, oh noes, and then he immediately blames Pangzi’s dirty jokes for his dubious thoughts. ;D) AND
  
• thought about the fact that Xiaoge seemed to have no sex drive and idly thought about feeding him APHRODISIACS to see what would happen.

I do prefer a bottom!Wu Xie for porn prompts, but… I could see all of the following prompts as him projecting? Maybe as something he wants to have happen to himself?


1. I could see Wu Xie fantasizing about those sorts of things. Maybe while Xiaoge is gone behind the Bronze Door? Maybe those fantasies keep him company, keep him grounded and tethered when he’s so lonely he feels like he’s going to fly apart. And maybe when Xiaoge comes back and they do get into a relationship, Wu Xie is careful to keep those fantasies from him, to keep their lovemaking soft, and gentle, and sweet and everything that those fantasies AREN’T.


2. Dealer’s choice if Xiaoge ever finds out and decides that maybe he DOES want to indulge in any of Wu Xie’s fantasies.


• I can’t see Wu Xie actually doing those things to Xiaoge, though, especially after the Bronze Door and finding out about his time as A-kun, ESPECIALLY if Xiaoge offers, but I CAN see him turning it around and convincing Xiaoge to manhandle him a little.


• Or keep him naked and bound and desperate (maybe with a vibrator stuck inside him? ^_^) for the day while Xiaoge goes on about his business… but periodically toys with the remote.


• Or maybe Wu Xie sets HIMSELF up that way with the vibrator inside himself and hands Xiaoge the remote, daring him to use it as they both go about their usual business. And maybe Xiaoge’s not into it at first… until he accidentally sets it off and sees/hears Wu Xie’s reaction. And then suddenly… he is VERY into it. ^_^ (I’m OK with the idea of them indulging this in public, but it’s also fine by me if it’s just the two of them in Wushanju on a day when no one else is around if that makes you uncomfortable.)

Is Wu Xie feeling what Xiaoge feels behind the door? So much potential fun to be had here. ^_^

人生大事 | Lighting Up the Stars (2022)

Oh gosh, I fell so unbelievably in love with this movie, and I was lucky enough to have seen it in the theatre three times. It was the first (and only) movie I've seen in theatres since the beginning of the pandemic. And it was WORTH IT. This is such a feel good movie and it broke my heart in all the right ways just to put it back together again at the end. TT^TT Seriously, I am a SUCKER for found family stories and this is one of the best I've seen in a while. And at the core of it, what I'd love for this canon is just… MORE OF THAT.

I love the oddly shaped family they've built between San-ge, his two best friends, and Xiaowen. I love that there were so many potential places where one or the others could have gotten weird or toxic about it, but they instead chose "let's just all shower this child in as much love as we can." I could easily see Xiaowen's mother sliding right into that found family along with the four of them at the end of canon if you wanted to go that route, too.

Prompts:

1. Xiaowen brings a friend home (either when she's young or when she's older (e.g., in college)) and gets to introduce them to the wild and wacky life she lives with her three (or four) parents.


2. That day at the beach! We got such tiny glimpses of it, but they were having so much fun. I'll be it was even Xiaowen's first time at the beach. TT^TT Give me that whole story.


3. Dealing with any of Xiaowen's milestones growing up: getting her period (San-ge, in particular, seems bound and determined to do ALL THE PARENTING THINGS, so I can't see him backing down from that, no matter how awkward he may feel about it), dating, going away to college, getting in trouble for fleecing her classmates at mah jong, The Sex Talk, The Career Talk (does Xiaowen want to get into the funeral business or would she rather do something else?), so many possible choices!


4. Wang Jiaren and Yin Baixue were obviously dating for quite some time without San-ge being aware of it. How did they feel about that? Did they worry it would throw off the balance between them? Did they worry he would feel left out? Why didn't they tell him? And when Xiaowen was introduced into that dynamic, did it change things for the better or the worse?


5. I personally enjoy headcanoning San-ge as asexual and either aromantic or demi-romantic. If you were up for exploring that idea, how does Xiaowen react to that? Do they ever talk about it? Maybe when she's older, they bond over the fact that neither of them is straight? Does she ever try to set San-ge up with someone else and it backfires miserably? Or maybe she's just worried that he's lonely and he reassures her that with as large a family as they have, how could he be?


6. I just really love the joyful found family that we have here and I want more of them. ^_^

Yuleporn/Crueltide Prompts:

1. Well… honestly just one here. As mentioned before, I have a noncon kink a mile wide. We know that San-ge spent time in prison. Was he ever raped in prison? Gang-raped? Forced to trade sex for protection or favors? I know he had a girlfriend, but I also enjoy headcanoning him as asexual… how much worse would that situation have been? Did he ever tell Wang Jianren or Yin Baixue about it when he got out? Did they figure it out on their own? Did that have any lasting effects on him?

Every time I think about this series I get overwhelmed. It has SO MANY things that I love in it, but the things I probably love the most are the importance of loyalty and listening to people and how a family can look like anything and how your heart is more important than the body it was born into. There’s just… SO MUCH THERE. (*coughs* And lots of physical and emotional pain and anguish. Can’t forget that, can we? ;D)

This is a series where I'm OK with you not including all requested characters, so I'm going to talk about them in the sets I'm most interested in seeing together.

Teng She

I just… LOVE HIM. I love everything about him. How deeply feeling he is, how brash and hotheaded he is, how completely and fully he devotes his loyalty once he decides someone is worthy of it, how he flies off the handle SO EASILY but he’s so reliable and so constant and so loving when he wants to be. And I love all his little mannerisms that should be over the top and ridiculous but somehow AREN’T?? So, yeah, he’s where it’s kind of a “JUST GIVE ME MORE OF HIM, PLEASE???”

Prompts:

1. When he first becomes Xuanji’s spirit beast that is… really hard for me to watch. It’s dehumanizing and it’s borderline torture. But OTOH… I am a sucker for that. *sheepish grin* So, what was that like for him? Going from absolute freedom to imprisonment and dehumanization? We know he didn’t handle it well at all, but the show gave that to us from Xuanji and Sifeng’s POV. What was that like for HIM?


2. Bailing’s death left him absolutely devastated and grief-stricken, but we know he DOES recover eventually, because he’s his old self at the birthday party at the end. What was that time like for him? Go ahead and give me the depths of his despair if you’re into that. Did he ever feel suicidal? Like he should follow Bailing into death? Or give me him healing from that grief and finding joy in life again. ^_^


3. So… he knows NOTHING about human babies (...or probably ANY babies XD), as we saw from how he reacted to Xuanji and Sifeng’s, but does he ever grow out of that? I personally think he’d make a great honorary uncle. ^_^ The adventures of Uncle Sifeng and his beloved nephews and/or nieces? ^_^

Qing Long/Teng She

I will probably take almost ANYTHING for the two of them, because I love them to pieces. I love how Qing Long is trying SO HARD to show Teng She that he loves him (both as a friend and as a potential lover, I think), and Teng She is just… HELPLESSLY OBLIVIOUS. OTZ

Prompts:

1. I would love to see Teng She finally figure out that Qing Long DOES love him and that everything he’s done until now has been to help Teng She and to try to keep him safe and protected. Maybe return a little of that care?


2. Teng She bringing Qing Long down to the mortal realm to experience a little of what he did when he first came down: Sifeng’s cooking, good wine, the joy of travel and exploration, any of the things that the Heavenly Beasts never get to experience.


3. Teng She is DEVASTATED after Bailing dies. I’d love to see Qing Long taking care of him a little, just being there for him, comforting him, maybe brushing his hair and/or bathing him, just something to ground him back into reality a little and away from his grief?


4. Seriously, just… I’d even love to see them cuddling by a fire on a cool night and enjoying being together. ANYTHING. I just love them so much. TT^TT

Luohou Jidu/Yu Sifeng

I'm not sure I can even be coherent about the two of them, so how about we jump straight to the prompts? XD

Prompts:

1. I know they don’t get many chances to interact, but what time they DO get is SO MUCH. Sifeng volunteering to be his servant/slave for three days in an attempt to wake Xuanji up? Luohou Jidu constantly surprising himself by not letting Sifeng be hurt? Sifeng where fucking sheer-ass WEDDING ROBES to wait on Luohou Jidu? Luohou Jidu allowing himself to be vulnerable enough to show Sifeng the damage done to his body, even though the thinks he’s doing it in anger? Just… I’m sorry, but I go fucking feral for ALL OF IT. Just give me anything set in that time period and I will be thrilled.


2. Soft, gentle moments between them where Luohou Jidu lets Sifeng take care of him, even a little? Lets himself accept that someone COULD love him? Could be willing to care for him? And Sifeng showing some of that infinite care and patience he has for Xuanji to him? I would MELT.


3. Or maybe an AU where the series ends differently and both Luohou Jidu and Xuanji survive in their own bodies? (...I think they could have fun sharing Sifeng. Both in general and sexually. ;D)


4. Or what about before the series? Did they ever meet before The God of War was created? What might that meeting have been like? Did Sifeng see something in him even then that sparked off an interest or the beginnings of love?

Yuleporn Prompts:

1. During the time when Sifeng is playing servant/slave, maybe he thinks that sex might be a way for him to reach Xuanji? Or thinking that if he surrenders in that way, let’s himself be totally vulnerable, it might act as a road map for Luohou Jidu to do the same?


2. Or maybe something post-series? Even though Luohou Jidu technically died, maybe some part of him lives on in Xuanji? Maybe he comes out to play sometimes when Xuanji is feeling particularly dominant?

3. Or maybe flip it the other way? Maybe it’s the other demons, not trusting Sifeng or being jealous of him who hurt/violate him and it’s Luohou Jidu who helps heal/comfort him, the fear of losing him finally cracking that cold exterior?

5. 心宅猎人 | Psych-Hunter (TV)
Characters: Jiang Shuo, Qin Yi Heng

Full disclosure, I have not finished watching this series yet. I’m up to episode 31, so I’m pretty close to the end and will probably finish it before fic reveals, but my opinion on spoilers is “YES PLEASE” so don’t worry about the fact that I might not have seen the last episodes if there’s something you want to include from them. I have a general idea already of how the ending plays out and I don’t mind being spoiled for the things I don’t know.

OMG, I love these two so much. I love how codependent they grow and how much of a panic they both fly into when the other is hurt or in danger. The way they leap so quickly to each others’ defense? BESTILL MY HEART. And I love how they both think they're in charge of whatever is going on… even if one of them is usually wrong about that. ;D I do ship these two a LOT, but would be happy to see their relationship looked at platonically, as well.

Prompts:

1. I forget exactly which episode this is (somewhere in the 20s?), but ANYTHING about that whole segment where Qin Er stays behind in the Psych. That episode was delicious to me in SO MANY WAYS I’m still pretty feral about it.


1. Qin Er was in that Psych for long enough to grow a bit of beard and to entirely forget who he is… but he DIDN’T FORGET JIANG SHUO??? Of everything he could have held onto, that was the one thing? NEVER OVER IT. *coughs* Anyway, what was that like for him to be left alone there, slowly losing his mind? To be rescued, seeing Jiang Shuo’s face and the tears leaking from his eyes and to have those memories flood back? And afterwards, he’s SO unlike himself. He’s hesitant, hunched in, almost fearful? And the way he crowds into Jiang Shuo’s personal space? TT^TT You can’t tell me there weren’t nightmares after that. Maybe Jiang Shuo stayed with him through the night? Through many nights after that? Anything to help soothe him so he can rest and get back to normal?


2. And what was that like for Jiang Shuo on the other side of it? The initial pain of thinking he guessed wrong with the ring and the look of abject horror on his face? And then an even deeper horror when Qin Er reveals that the entire ring was a trick and Jiang Shuo never had the chance to guess right at all? And the way Jiang Shuo was just COMPLETELY UNHINGED in the real world trying to get him back? Seriously, I AM NOT OVER ANY OF THIS. But what was that like for him? Did he ever break down? Does he have his own nightmares when it over? That he wasn’t able to get Qin Er back or was too late?


3. I just love EVERYTHING about that whole segment, so just give me any more of it at all and I’ll be thrilled. *_*


2. OMG, the hurt/comfort is SO STRONG with this series. How many times do we get Qin Er sitting by Jiang Shuo’s bedside, keeping vigil and hoping and praying that he’ll wake up? Just… any of that. Jiang Shuo hurt or unconscious and Qin Er taking care of him.


3. There was only one bed? ;D I mean, HONESTLY. How many times does that happen? More than once, I think. Maybe the next time, they share? Maybe they wake up tangled up in each other and it’s… not as bad as they thought it would be? Maybe it leads to more than just sleeping? ^_^

Yuleporn/Crueltide Prompts:

1. As mentioned in my general likes, I do have a noncon kink a mile wide, so if you want to take things REALLY dark, there are several instances where Jiang Shuo finds himself at the mercy of an angry mob or people accusing him of wrongdoing or being thrown in prison or being trapped in someone’s Psych and assaulted. …is that ever a sexual assault?


1. Does Qin Er know? Does he witness it, unable to stop it?


2. Does he take care of Jiang Shuo in the aftermath or does Jiang Shuo manage to hide it from him? At least for a little while?


3. Maybe it’s Liu Zhi who hurt him, back before the loss of his memories? Maybe he doesn’t even KNOW it happened except in the ways that his subconscious has him reacting to situations and he doesn’t understand why?

6. Thermos "Flower Series" Commercials

To start with, if we didn't match on this fandom, and none of my prompts on the one we did match are appealing to you, this is a very quick fandom to pick up. It's about 7 minutes worth of commercials. ^_^ Basically, the Thermos people really did just look at each other and say "If we've managed to get Zhu Yilong to agree to promote our products, then damn it, we are going to make the best use of him we can!" and then gave him a bunch of mini-movies to act in. ;D

What really appeals to me about these commercials is the sheer world-building potential. I saw the Gardenia commercial first, and it had me at "here is this person who has magic portal powers and uses them to... wander the city and solve everyone's sadnesses and worries by being a... Fairy... Thermos... Father...???" And then each successive commercial I saw just compounded the potential, especially if we assume that this Wanderer/Magician character is the same character in each commercial. (Though the thought of them all being the same world and same character does appeal to me, if one of the commercials in particular appeals to you more than the others, and you'd rather look at it as its own world, that's fine by me, too.)

The Commercials:

• Gardenia: Z1L's character helps out sad and struggling people with magical Thermoses.


• Sunflower: Z1L's character finds a magical sun seed in a tomb and uses it and a Thermos to bring life back to a world of ice.


• Wisteria: Z1L's character, sad and alone in a boat on an ocean, climbs a ladder to the moon to find a lush world in which can find respite. There is a cat. ^_^


• Camellia: Z1L's character finds a magical cottage in a land of ice, full of lush overgrown plants, an oasis in the cold.


• Unlabeled (Peony): Z1L's character wanders through a lush wilderness delighted with the flowers he smells.


• Tulip: Z1L's character explores an old mansion, finds a secret room with a magical flower that turns into a Thermos.


• Daisy: Z1L's character explores a gallery (looking very like the virtual gallery Thermos created for his birthday this year), becomes fascinated with a painting of a field of daisies, steps into the painting to explore, brings the magic and Thermoses back with him to the gallery when he returns.

Prompts:

1. General world building: What kind of magic does he have? How do these worlds connect to each other? Do the people of these worlds know about the magic that helps and protects them? How does he know who needs help?


2. Is he alone out there? Are there others like him? What are their interactions like? (Bonus crossover idea: Xiao Zhan did a very similar commercial to the Gardenia commercial for bubly, where he runs around helping people solve their problems with the magic of soft drinks. If it strikes your fancy to play with that, I'd definitely be on board. ^_^)


3. Tell me about someone he helped, maybe on Gardenia world. Does he check up on them later? Do they know who he is? Is he a known cryptid or more like someone who blends into the background? Are there sightings boards? Internet theories? People wishing on their Thermoses to get his attention? I want to know! (This could be a fun place for an outsider POV on him. ^_^)


4. There could also be some fun crossover potential with the Time Engraver commercials, if you wanted to go there. ^_^


5. In the Wisteria, Peony, and Daisy ads, he's filled with such wonder, coming into these beautiful garden worlds. Are these worlds that he's healed? New worlds? Resting places? That wonder is almost childlike in nature; has he never seen a world undamaged like these?


6. In both the Gardenia and Wisteria commercials, he seems to have animal companions. I... I don't have any suggestions for what to do with that, but it's adorable and I thought you should know, and if you WANT to do something with that, please feel free. ^_^ (...if you wanted to play with a Guardian crossover idea, Da Qing would make an ADORABLE animal companion, don't you think? XD Maybe he got stuck on Haixing way back when, this powerful, yet somehow far too innocent Magician, and lost his memory? I always love a Guardian crossover, so feel free to go down that road, if it strikes your fancy. ^_^)


7. In the snow-covered worlds that the Magician brings light to (Sunflower and Camellia), how did they end up so dark and cold to begin with? Why did the Magician come to them?


8. We see the end where he heals these dark worlds or finds places of light within them, but what happened there when these worlds were still cold and dark? Does he run into people who are as cold and dark as their worlds? Does he ever get hurt by these people?


9. Does he ever get tired? We see him wandering alone so much of the the time, and in the Wisteria commercial, he seems so sad in the beginning. Does he ever want to give up? Can he even given up? Is he allowed? How did this end up his responsibility to begin with?

Yeah, so basically, these commercials are a lot of fun and there's so much potential there, and I'd love to see what you can do with them!
