Ah... tumblr.

So many mixed feelings about Tumblr, I don't even know where to begin. Lots of fun pictures. Gifsets are awesome. People say funny things. People say fannish things. People post fannish things.

Problem is... it's really hard to interact with people there. The only way to really get a conversation going is by repeatedly reblogging each other's posts... which gets obnoxious very quickly, especially for anyone unfortunate enough to be following both of you. Only... it's a bit hard to get in fannish conversations around here lately, too. Maybe it's the time of year and everyone's busy with other things. Maybe it's that I just haven't found the right comms for things I'm currently fannish about. I don't know. But I find myself wanting to be more involved in the fannishness on tumblr... and that makes me really antsy because my tumblr links to too many accounts where people I know in RL hang out. Not good. I like my anonymity, thankyouverymuch.

So, I'm creating a second tumblr for fannish things. Don't worry. That doesn't mean I'm leaving. It just means I'm opening a new avenue. Anyone here hangs out on tumblr and wants to know where to find me when I'm there, here's where I'll be hanging out: eirenical.tumblr.com. ^_^

*laughs* Seriously. I mean... I did this last year, too. I wrote about 1-2000 words way early, then wrote the rest of it (something like another 9-10,000 words) PLUS 3 treats in the last week. Two of the treats were actually in the last DAY.

Still... It makes me feel mildly guilty...?

I think the only times I've done much of anything on Yuletide before December was when I was unemployed/on vacation in November. It's too difficult to get it AND NaNo in, unless you're counting Yuletide towards your word count I guess?

I love last minute treat-ing, though. :D

Ah, see, I did NaNo ONCE. Once was enough. I managed to complete it and was even pleased with the story I'd written... but I burnt myself out on writing for almost a year after doing it. So, as far as NaNo and I are concerned... I did it once to prove I could. That was enough for me. ;)

Last minute treating is THE BEST. ^__________^

My fandom-better-half and I are basically done with "our" assignment, does that count? XD

I need to go through the DYW letters more in depth once I get through my piece... there hasn't been nearly as much this year that's popped out to me as being inspiring. :( Maybe it's because I don't have much in the way of new fandoms?
Or maybe I'm just discouraged because I was just so excited to see several fandoms pop up in noms/signups but the only DYW letters are for like, het pairings that don't inspire me at all ;__;

But, yeah. I noticed that, too, about the DYA letters. The one I wrote jumped out at me WAY before sign-ups were over and I knew it was only going to be a couple thousand words at most, so I just knocked it out while the inspiration hit and trusted that the person would actually follow-through on their sign-up (they did). A lot of the fandoms that initially I thought would intrigue me, though, either didn't end up getting requested, or if they did, they didn't get DYA letters written or were for pairings I have no interest in writing. So, I'm thinking that there won't be a lot of treating from me this year. Then again... I thought that last year, too, and wrote three last minute. So. Heh. I guess we'll see? ;)

(If you're ~really~ yearning to write a treat, I could always write up a last minute just-for-you request for Three Musketeers fic. ^_~ *eg* j/k... or am I? ;D)

OMG, I TOTALLY AM. :DDDDDDDDD My pet pairings in that movie are Athos/Aramis and Porthis/Aramis. (Clearly my headcanon Aramis gets around. ^_~)

I would have to watch the movie again to actually write up a prompt for either, but if you're serious about wanting the prompt, I'd totally do it. ^_^

(I love the Disney version SO. HARD. With all it's ridiculousness. And at least it's better than last year's fiasco....)

ME, TOOOOOOO. It's still my favorite version and I guess I was blessed enough that I didn't see last year's version. So. Lucky me? ^_^ I think that version of the Three Musketeers was one of the first movies I actively 'shipped a slash pairing for. ^_^ Ah, memories... ^_^

And I totally will! Hell, at this point, if I can stay awake long enough, I'll watch it tonight. ;) And no worries on the timing -- it's not like it could be an official Yuletide fic, anyway, so whenever (if ever) you feel like getting around to it is OK by me. ^_^

I think it was the first time I ever saw Kiefer, honestly. (so pretty. So angsty. So hilariously acting like it was a SERIOUS movie. Hahahah )
I think I probably picked them all up from andoneforall? Which isn't super active but the peeps are good and I went to Paris because of that damn comm, so it's still worth hanging around. :D

LOL. I'll be happy to share. As soon as my week quiets down. O_o;;; My winter concert is this Saturday, so things will be a bit crazy until then, but once that's done, I'll have time to jot them down. ^_^

Damn, though... I'd forgotten how much of an established headcanon I have for that movie. O_o;;; I mean... really. There's an epically long fic in there for me if I ever feel inspired enough to write it. ;)
