In other random news... I'm contemplating ditching my website. I'm just not sure the expense is paying off anymore. In fact, I think I may be the only person who actually reads my fanfiction on my website. O_o;;; Of course, the downside is, if I give up my website, I also have to let hairfanfiction.net go. :( Unfortunately, until I have more income, I'm just not sure I can afford to maintain even one, much less both. *sigh* Thoughts anyone?

*eyes tumbleweeds as they go rolling past*

Yeah... that's what I thought. *ponders*

I have no idea what you should do. If you think the expense is not worth it at the moment, just let them go. But this is my opinion, do what you feel is right.
And what I was going to suggest you already have, that is a place here on livejournal for your fanfics.

And I never had a website so I really don't know what you should do.
My comment is not helpful at all! XD >.

*snugs* No worries. ^_^ I'll figure it out, I'm sure. Funny thing is that when I first started posting fanfiction, everyone had their own website and that was how you read fanfic -- off the individual website and that person would have a links page to similar websites that would help you find more. There were a few ambitious people who put together gigantic archives like one on dragonfire.net, I believe, and another at asailormoonromance.net, but they were the exception, not the rule. There were none of these automated archives and much of the fanfiction was in .txt format or individually html'ed by the archive owner. My original website is a hold-over from that and it's a bit of a comfort, a link to a more innocent time, if you will. So, I don't want to give it up. But the reality is... I think I may be the only person who reads off it anymore. So do I really need to spend that kind of money each year to maintain it for myself? *shrugs* I don't know.

Eh. I'll figure it out. ^_^ Pardon my babbbling.

I noticed hairfanfiction.net was down so came to seek you out! It's a shame but I suppose we have fanfiction.net... Was it very expensive to keep running? I'd be happy to contribute a little something if it would help. And maybe I'll actually get round to contributing another story some time soon! I'm shocking at motivating myself to write... apologies!

Anyway, happy New Year! Looking forward to more fanfics in 2012! :)

Aww! *_* Thanks so much! I really appreciate the offer. ^_^ Normally it's not terrible, but I'm on a severely restricted budget this year thanks to having no job. :-P And there was a mix-up with my hosting company that I need to try to get sorted out. (They had upgraded my account so I could create a MySQL database and were supposed to downgrade it again... and never did, apparently. :-P) If I can get that sorted out, it ought to bring things back down into the realm of reasonable. *sigh* But I figured that I would wait and deal with it after New Year's when people would be back in the office and more receptive to helping me out. ^_^

*poke* And yes, you do need to write more! ^_^ I even just posted my year-end word counts -- go look and be inspired! ;D

And a Happy and Healthy New Year to you, too! And here's to many many many more fanfics (all Hair, right? ;D) in 2011! ^_~ (*coughs* 2012, too, but let's not put the cart before the horse, huh? *poke* *bratty grin* ^_~)
