So, I realized today that I have uber-failed at keeping the contents of my Inbox sorted. That means that I had over 650 messages in my Inbox. O_O Yoiks. So, I just spent about two hours sorting and replying to e-mails... and only got through about 150. That leaves almost 500 more to go. O_O Dear G-d, why did I do this to myself? :-P

In other news, I found about a week or two ago that WW is totally changing their plan. This... really does not thrill me. They say it's based on new science and they're really excited about it, but I can't help but think that this was just an excuse to make us all buy our calculators/books/scales/etc. all over again. *twitch* I hate that. And they're not giving out any advance info. Of course, thanks to the fact that they always try these things out in Europe first, you can find it online if you look. Basically, they changed their points formula so instead of it being based on calories, fat and fiber, it's now based on protein, fat, carbs and fiber. Which naturally skews it towards making you shy away from carbs and eat more protein. Dude... if I wanted to do the Atkins diet, I'd do the Atkins diet! Who can maintain staying away from carbs long term? Not me! *grumps*

That being said, I decided to do a little experiment. I picked today, because I'm not being particularly good today, and recalculated everything on the new system. I found one person's blog who got 21 points on the old system and she said she has 29 on the new system, so I figured that since I have 21 on the old system, I'd probably get about the same. So far, including my plans for dinner, I've eaten 20 points on the old system, which leaves me with one point left for snacking after dinner. And since dinner is going to be loaded with spaghetti and Italian bread and my entire middle of the day was loaded with carb-ridden snacks (after finding out that WW was going to try to scare me off them, is it any real shock I felt the need to binge? Not to me... :-P), I figured that would put me way overboard with the new system.

...

...

It didn't. I'm at 20 for the day (with 1 point left) on the old system and at 30 (1 point over) on the new. But we get 49 extra weekly points on the new system as opposed to 35 on the old. So if I only go over by 1 or 2 points each day, eating the way I always ate (or, let's face it, usually I eat better than this O_O), then really, the new system changes nothing. Which means I'm stressing over nothing. *deep breath* I feel a lot better now. ^_^

In other news... yeah, this means that I totally haven't been ficcing. *twitch* I think I'll type up what I've written on that Alice fic (since I might actually have the attention span to do that :P) and split the NaNo wordcount between the two fics if necessary. Hey, writing is writing, right? ^_~

....if the old system is working for you why don't you just ignore their new system and not tell them that you're still rocking their old?

Yeah, I would, except that I do all my tracking/looking up points values using the online system and transferring it all to paper at this point... O_O Let's just say it would be a massive pain in the rear-end. So, I'm going to give the new system a try (won't start until the 29th anyway) and see how nuts it drives me. If it doesn't, then I'll stick with it for a while and see what it does for me. If I don't like it, I can always switch back and do the paper thing, no matter how annoying it would be. *blehs*

I just wish they'd give us an overlap to get used to the new system before yanking away the old. Or that they'd at least waited until January for this instead of switching it right smack in the middle of the highest stress season of the year. *grumps*
