Wow... I could totally blather on for about an hour about how wonderful that concert was. *_* Gavin is even more gorgeous and inspiring up close in person. And we were up close. ^_^ Right up front on the left hand side... first row! :D Right behind the piano. ^_^

Amusing moments in the evening (really too numerous to count and I was too overwhelmed to take proper note of a lot of them, but... *shrug* What I remember. ^_^):

1. Steel Burkhardt and Caissie Levy (sp? O_O) were there and sang a song with him called (oh gosh, I kind of forgot O_O), "Where have the flower children gone?" that they wrote for the closing of Hair in London. Gorgeous. I cried my way through the whole song, I kid you not.

1a. As he was calling Steel and Caissie up, Gavin noticed that someone else was sitting with Steel...
*squint* "Paris? OMG, that's Paris? Dude, I almost didn't recognize you! Where's your hair???"
>.<;;; *dies* Oh... Gavin... -.-;;; That was just awesome. XD

(Side note: Love how Paris dragged his @$$ up to NY with Steel even though he wasn't singing in Gavin's show. ^_^ Later on someone asked Gavin to sing WDIG? and Gavin responded that he didn't know how to play it on the piano and besides, he couldn't sing it because Claude was in the house. :D So cute. ^_^)

2. During another song with Steel, Gavin is describing the set up of his and Steel's dressing rooms in London: adjoining dressing rooms with Gavin's being set up as a sitting room and Steel's as a dressing area... and that they used to wander back and forth in various states of undress. O_O *_* O_O Seriously, Gavin... are you trying to give us all naughty thoughts? :D)

3. Gavin sang Katy Perry's, "I Kissed a Girl", replacing the line "It's not what good girls do..." with "It's not what good gays do..." XD And then he expounded for the next several minutes on how wonderful a kisser Caissie Levy is. Then he proceeded to apologize to her fiance who was also there. XD

4. When Steel and Caissie came up to sing, Gavin and Steel totally had an "argument" on stage about which was worse: Steel making him fall in love with him every night and then breaking his heart by running off with that bitch Sheila (Gavin's opinion), or Gavin running off to war and dying and thus breaking Steel's heart (Steel's opinion). Gavin stared at him for a second then said, "Nope. Broken heart is worse." Gavin FTW! :D

5. Gavin's between song speeches are so damned adorable I wish I could remember them all, but seriously, that man is too cute for his own good. ^_^

6. The new songs... OMG, the new songs... *_* *_* <3 <3 *_* *_* Yeah. I don't have anything else to say about that. ^_^

7. OK, stupid little thing. Really stupid, but... I'm a dorky fangirl, I must comment on it. At one point, Gavin had done a song at the piano and left his water to the side of the piano bench. When he went back to the mike, he couldn't find his water and asked where it was. I pointed it out to him (as I was sitting there and had a fantastic view of it) and he totally made eye contact, gave me that little Gavin-grin and said thank you. *_* Am I a dork that I found that really sweet and endearing... and that my heart skipped a little beat when he made momentary eye contact? *blush*

There was so much more awesome and I'm a little irritated at myself that that's all I remember, but I was so overwhelmed, that I just couldn't take it all in. O_O

On a serious note, though... the more I hear about and hear that man, the more I want to be a better person. Every time I hear him sing (or talk, for that matter), he reminds me that it's perfectly OK to be me, flaws and all, and that I should just take what I am and use it to the best of my ability to make the world a better place. The world needs more people like him. I'm left in awe, as usual by his talent, his beauty and his belief that people can change and can stand together to make things better.

So beautiful. So much love. *_*

Peace.

I AM SO SAD THAT I WAS NOT THERE. 15TH NOW PLEASE.

4. I do not understand Gavin's side of this argument, but i am so sorry that I missed it.

Sounds like an amazing concert. Did you guys choose to end up behind the piano or did people just get there REALLY early? Did I lead you astray with my 'i felt okay in jeans' comment cause I'm kind of not observant regarding what other people are wearing generally...?

*waits patiently for friend i know who filmed last night to start posting her videos*

I AM, TOO! :(

*laughs* Yeah... I concur. I was with Steel on that one. ^_^ Also, at the end of that song, there was this really interesting dissonance that happened which I naturally assumed was supposed to be there. It made sense to end that song on a dissonance, after all. However, as Gavin was making his way back to the mike and giving Caissie and Steel their hugs, Steel whispered something in his ear. Gavin then laughed and turned to the rest of us and said, "Steel just wants you to know that the wrong note at the end was mine, not his." *snickers* Awesome!

Actually, we ended up there because we were early. Good seats! :D And his sister was totally sitting right behind us. O_O

I stepped up my dress one notch from jeans (black corduroys and a nice top) and I fit in just fine. Most people were dressed at my level or one notch up (lots of friends/family there) and a few people were in ratty jeans and polo shirts. -.-;;; I think jeans would have been fine if they were nice jeans and you wore a nice top. ^_^ I just chose cords because they're warmer... and mine are a little looser around the waist than my nice jeans and thus allowed me to have chocolate mousse. Dark chocolate hazelnut mousse. *_*

*grabs you* O_O OMG, if you tell me where they're posted or manage to get copies that I can share, I will totally love you forever and ever and ever. O_O I will. Totally. *puppy dog eyes*

Edit: Don't know if this is your friend or not, but someone posted one video of the concert that I found: Favorite Chapter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQAF1MbxLXU)
