Oh. My. G-d.

Today was such a giant cluster-f*ck, I don't even know how to describe it.

*headdesk*

I need a new life. Stat.

*flubs off to watch some TV before calling it quits for the night*

Are you okay? *Hugs* Sounds like a rough day. :/ I hope everything smoothes out. *feeds the tree for you*

*slurps on the hot coacoa* I just... I had one of those days where there was a definite reverse-Midas touch going on. And instead of getting to go to the chiropractor, then relax all day (as planned), I got to run around to various veterinary hospitals. *sigh* And I couldn't go to the chiro because my health insurance company couldn't find my account. *falls over*

As for the rest... the town shelter brought a dog into my hospital ~2 months ago. He'd been hit by a car and dragged, had extensive leg injuries. Don't know if they were all superficial at the time or not -- we shipped him to the local emergency center (we were closing in 20 minutes). An emergency doctor there took him to a no-kill shelter she works with and has been managing him there ever since, using bandages to debride the wound.

OK -- why does this all matter? Well, my parents wanted to adopt the little cutie. So, when the other doctor started talking amputation, I said -- "Hey wait. If there are more expensive options that we aren't pursuing, my parents are willing to pay for them." Her response, "Oh no, he's doing great with the bandaging." For the last two months, that's all I've been hearing from them, "Oh, it's great, doing wonderful, yada yada."

Then suddenly on Tuesday, they're talking amputation again. WTF?? So, after unsuccessfully trying to reach the other doctor all week, we decided to just go get him. Once I got a good look at the leg, I realized that something just wasn't right. So, I called a different specialty center and made an appointment. Long story short -- too late! -- the wound itself should be a simple matter of a skin graft to fix... and the rest of what's wrong with his leg (and what may ultimately cause him to have to lose it) is due to muscle contracture from being bandaged too long.

*stunned silence*

So... yeah. *sigh* And what pisses me off the most, is that from the get-go, I told them that if a better option is available that isn't being pursued for monetary reasons, my mother was willing to pay for it. So why did we dick around with this for two months and consequently make it worse? *glares* I've got nothing.

*sigh* So... yeah. *hangs head* I'm exhausted.

*offers another soul to the tree*

Yeah... I'm OK. Just really, really tired. And frustrated. With a healthy helping of "pissed off" on the side. *points upward to the response to nightsea's comment* And life in general is just getting really annoying. Honeymoon phase definitely over at the new job, guy I'm seeing gets on my nerves more than anything else and my schedule is forcing me to be a social hermit. *sigh* It'll work out... I'm sure. Eventually. :-P

*snugs* Thanks, though. ^_^ *poke* BTW, how's the new apartment? Enjoying it? ^_^

Ah. Yes. The universe always swings back around when things seem too shiny. *hugs* But it will get better! The story about the dog makes me angry, though.

I move in this Saturday so.. not quite enjoying the new place yet. Right now I'm (NON)enjoying the final packing. :P
