Dear Miserable Holidays Author/Artist,
First and foremost I'd like to offer up a huge "Thank You!!" to you for being willing to create a story or piece of art for me. I know how difficult it can be to put any part of your creative process into the hands of another individual, so I will treat that trust with the care and respect it deserves by not being too greedy or selfish. I am already happy that you are willing to create for me in a fandom of my choosing and with characters of my choice. It would be the icing on the cake if you are willing to include my other requests, as well, but ultimately if they don't work for you, please feel free to ignore them. ^_^
A note on rating and kink:
Any rating can fly. I'm always up for a good PWP, but I love G-rated fluff and everything in between just as much. My general reading preferences tend towards slash (or femslash), but there are occasional het pairings I enjoy, as well. If NC-17 is your writing poison of choice, I'm certainly OK with that ^_~, but there aren't too many kinks that work for me. I usually like my fic sex fairly vanilla with the exception of this random dub-con/non-con/bondage/angry!sex kink I seem to have developed. A little power play between friends is all just good fun, though, right? Basically, if you'd like to include a kink and you aren't sure I'll be OK with it, please ask the mods to contact me and ask. I'm pretty approachable and generally love to babble about these kinds of things. ^_^
A note on general likes and dislikes:
I love a good angst-fest. I really do. Hurt-comfort? Yes, please. Unrequited love? Oh, absolutely. Mental and emotional trauma? You had me at "Ment--". Boys who can't seem to get a clue and when they do, have trouble holding on to it? My bread and butter. Thing is… I love my fluff just as hard. Cuddling in front of a fireplace? Oh, please, gimme. Romantic moonlit walks on the beach? No problems there. Domestic bliss of any kind? Oh, no question. ;)
The punchline? I'm in fandom for the character development and interaction. Fight/action scenes aren't really my thing. I love a good navel-gazing, introspective character study with almost no dialogue and a boatload of self-analysis and I also love interactive witty banter and shenanigans. ^_^ Ultimately, it's about the characters for me, though, so if you keep it focused on them, I'll be happy with whatever else falls around them.
Excessive dialect use is a turn-off -- a touch for authenticity is OK, but once it crosses the line into making the dialogue difficult to understand, it's not fun.
I'm not in this to be too greedy and even though I'm the one requesting this piece, you're ultimately the one creating it. I'm not the only one who should be happy with how it turns out. ^_~

My gateway pairing into the LM fandom and still a favorite pairing. There is something about that (un)requited love and wildly flaring passion that is very compelling to me. No matter what E and R feel about each other they are incapable of feeling it quietly. They feel it 100%, full-throttle, passion x 100, and I love that. ^_^ Pining (from either side) is lovely, if you choose to view this as unrequited, and squishy, fluffy, happily-ever-after is wonderful, too.
Combeferre/Courfeyrac:
If e/R was my gateway pairing into this fandom, C&C have become my mainline of choice. They have such polar opposite strengths and abilities, yet they mesh into such a seamless whole to be a framework and support for Les Amis (and Enjolras, in particular), that they seem to act as one. I'm fascinated by that entire dynamic. I love that they give so much of themselves for other people and keep nothing for themselves. I just love them. ^_^
Combeferre/Courfeyrac/Enjolras:
Oh, these three... ^_^ I have seen so many interpretations of this and fallen in love with so many of them that I don't have a set headcanon for them anymore. My love for this threesome is an extension of what I said above about C&C, but with the added dynamic of throwing their leader/best friend/personal messiah/guru/however-you-want-to-view-Enjolras in there, as well. I've seen this done as a three-way sexual relationship and with it being a mix of two having a sexual relationship and the third being romantically entangled but not sexually and I love both interpretations. I just adore how that triangle fits together and again, how they all have such different personalities but they mesh so well that you can't always tell where one ends and another begins.
Headcanons:
Oh gosh. I could go on for ages here, but I will not, I think. Because if you create only my headcanons, then it’s not your work, it’s mine, and what’s the fun in that? ^_^
That being said… I don’t want to leave you out on a limb if you’d like a bit of guidance, either. So… Some things I like:
Jehan
You may have noticed I didn't get Jehan into my pairings. I honestly having sorted out who I like him paired with. I love his character. I love that he has a bit of steel at his core, even if he’s soft and squishy otherwise. I love friendships between he and Grantaire. He's the embodiment of one of my favorite character tropes -- the character who looks gentle and dainty on the outside, but goodness help you if you threaten one of his friends... he'll tear you apart and you'll never see it coming. ^_^
CombeferreCourfeyracEnjolras codependencies/friendships/romances.
I think I may have covered this above in my discussion of pairings, but I'll add here that I'm obsessed with these three whether you see them romantically or not. I just love the codependent nature of their friendship. In my head, they've known each other for a very long time and, as such, their personalities basically grew and matured to naturally complement each other. I love seeing that play out both as romance and as friendship. ^_^
Combeferre and Courfeyrac as cuddle-bunnies — I have a major headcanon of Courfeyrac being physically affectionate. He'll cuddle anyone. It's an extension of the fact that I see him as truly, purely just... loving all of his friends and wanting them to be as happy as he can make them be. I especially love the idea that people like Combeferre and Enjolras, and even Grantaire, in a way, aren't able to resist the power of Courfeyrac's absolute love for his friends, that he's the only one they allow themselves to be that vulnerable with. Because it's Courfeyrac and everyone knows that you can't resist him because it's him, so why waste energy fighting the inevitable? Secretly, though, no matter how big a show they make of resisting the cuddling, secretly they love it and look forward to it -- and of course, Courfeyrac is so sensitive to other moods that he would never step beyond what his friends would be comfortable with.

I love canon-era stories and I love modern AU stories, so I'm equally OK with either.
