Before I start spewing the rest of the entry, a minor comment... I have Prince of Tennis icons! *squee* I really wanted to use an Eiji one for today... but the Shinji one just fit my mood so well. ^_^ Anyway, on to your regularly scheduled entry.

So... today was an interesting day. I'm still not entirely sure how to respond to it. I got thrown for a loop around 8:45 this morning and haven't yet pulled out of the tailspin. As you may or may not know, I've been working at a vet hospital for about a month now. I've been seeing my own appointments (mostly vaccines and simple problems) for the last two weeks or so. (Unofficially, I've been doing so since my third day, they just weren't scheduled specifically for me.) This morning my boss informed me that he may have forced me into seeing my own appointments a little too soon. We're going to dial it back a notch to the way it worked in vet school. I go in, do my exam, formulate my thoughts, then one of them goes in to finish up.

*pause*

OK, the most likely reason for this is that the appointments I kept ending up with which were "just vaccines" on the surface were, in fact, older animals with numerous problems (or multiple animals) that often ended up taking me more than the allotted half hour. This was slowing down appointments and we were getting backed up. By not scheduling appointments for me it slows down the frenetic pace and actually allows me to learn a few things by watching him and the other doctor. He also put me "in charge" of incoming surgeries (i.e. knowing exactly which lump we're removing and making sure that animals in the hospital got their meds in the AM, etc.).

This is the most likely explanation. It even makes sense. And the truth is, yeah, he did push me into seeing my own exams too soon. So, looking at this from a detached viewpoint, it's a relief and I understand why he did it.

The rest of me is busy running around in circles and panicking trying to figure out what I messed up so terribly that he felt the need to do this.

*sigh* I hate my brain sometimes. *thwacks brain* Bad brain. Calm down. Go play with your new Danny Phantom toy.

...

...

...

And that's the other thing. *chuckles* On a much lighter note... I have a "new" obsession (truthfully, it's been brewing for the better part of a year, but... *shrugs* ...eh.). I am head-over-heels in love with "Danny Phantom" a cartoon on Nickelodeon. *squees* *glomps Danny* So, I was extremely fangirlishly happy to discover that BK is handing out Danny Phantom toys in their kids meals. *more squeeage*

Now... how to get one... *waggles eyebrows* I went in today and got a kids meal. Then I bought a value meal to "cover up" the fact that the kids meal was for me. *sweatdrop* Then I looked in the kids meal and saw that they'd given me a Skulker toy. :-P Now, don't get me wrong, I like Skulker -- of all Danny's enemies, he's one of my two favorites -- but if I was only going to get up the courage to do this once, then I wanted to make sure I got a Danny toy. *nods* So I said, and I quote, "Sorry guys, but she already has this one. Is there a chance that I can get a different one?"

*hangs head in shame* I invented a daughter/sister/babysitting charge just to get myself a Danny Phantom toy. *sheepish grin* I am such a dork. So they gave me the one with Danny and the box ghost. It's so cute! Danny is "invisible" -- i.e. painted all white -- and when you move him next to the box ghost, the little magnets force the box ghost to pop out of his box! *more squeeing* It's so cute!

*coughs* And yes, I admit, once I figured out how it worked I spent the next ten minutes pushing the box ghost into his box and making him pop out again. *lil' chibi smile* I am such a child... -.-;;;

And see how nicely Danny diverted me from my work angst? Now imagine how much diverting I'd be able to do with the other 7... =^_^= *begins plotting how to go back and get the ones she wants* Mwa-ha-ha-ha!
