I'm an Aunt!!!!!!
September 3, 2009 at precisely 8:00 AM, I became an aunt for the first time. =^______^= Her name is Emma and she's 6 lbs. 7 oz. and 20" long. *_* *_* She is so adorable!! *_* *_*

Here's the freaky thing, though. The night before last (technically the morning of the 3rd), I woke up at 3:30 and was unable to really fall back asleep for the rest of the night. Kept waking up every 30 minutes or so. I was talking to my mom last night and she told me that 3:30 AM was when the baby's heart rate started faltering and they started talking about doing the C-section.

Also, Emma is named after our grandmother (mom's mom), Ethel. Her favorite number was 222 -- and this number seems to crop up in mine, my sister's and my mother's lives with an uncanny frequency. For example -- when I found out Lilly had cancer, but that it was the more treatable kind... it was 2:22 PM. And now... Emma was born at 8 AM. What is 8? It's 2 cubed. 2 x 2 x 2. And she was born 2 years, 2 months and 2 days after my sister and her husband got married.
Coincidence? I think not. *looks heavenward* I think Grandma's looking out for us. ^___^
Anyway. I gotta go -- I need to get to the chiropractor and then over to the hospital to visit.

Good to hear that L and the baby are doing well and am highly relieved that they gave the kid a normal name (as we all know, some folks should not be allowed to name children - yay that L did not turn out to one of them!)
