Heh. The first story I ever wrote for Hair was half written with Hanke!Claude and Caren!Sheila as models and then half written as Gavin!Claude and Caissie!Sheila (cause it took me like a YEAR to write), so I was forced to get over this hurdle very quickly (and found I didn't really have to change much of anything in the end).
